If a women uses birth control pharmaceuticals (for any reason), she’s a slut, whore or whatever some dummy on the radio says? Hm. Based on this information I can’t help but wonder what should we call men who seek drugs or penis pumps for erectile dysfunction?
Hey…if exercising my legal right to control the function of my sex organs via pharmaceutical intervention makes me a slut, I’m calling out the other sex.
Ok. This is just me spitballing here…but I kind of feel like erectile dysfunction might be nature’s of saying, “You’re done! No more sex for you!” If nature wanted you to have more sex, she wouldn’t have left you with two pounds of now-perpetually flaccid flesh hanging from your groin.
And furthermore if sexual intercourse was intended purely for procreation, shouldn’t men in search of drugs like Viagra be limited to those trying to knock up their women?
No. Of course not. Because that’s ridiculous. It’s ALL ridiculous! I can’t even justify going forth with more of this ludicrous argument!
Now I’m not a man. Nor a doctor. But a quick trip to WebMD tells me that getting a prescription for an ED drug is no picnic. First an interview and physical exam. Then one of a slew of tests to determine the cause and proper treatment. Not to mention the ego blow. Hey Doc! My penis doesn’t work! Sorry men. I’m sure that sucks.
But seriously…I don’t care if you use a drug to get your junk working properly. It doesn’t make you a whore to want to fix your dick. And it would be a monumental infringement of your rights as a human being to be deprived access to a drug or procedure (elective or necessary) to change a medical condition.
For the zillionth time…leave my reproductive decisions to me. I know what’s best for me. My doctors know what’s best for me. So unless I’m straddling my legs for you at the Margaret Sanger Center, BUTT OUT!

Thank you for posting about this, and especially for linking to that blog post!! THAT was just…. wow. I have been hesitant to post on FB about this issue because I have a very mixed bag of liberal and conservative friends. HOWEVER, that asshat on the radio is an idiot, and I LOVE Rachel Maddow’s take on him – he just doesn’t get it! And I think it is ridiculous that the only people who have been able to testify before Congress on this issue are MEN. WTF!?!? And, yes, the double standard of Viagra is alive and well. GRRRRRRR. So, long distance high-five to you Miss Amy!
