Thanks to my pal Jessica who posted my children’s book quandary on a LiveJournal book-finding community, the ballet book has been located. It’s called Bad News Ballet: #1 The Terrible Tryouts. I was able to find a graphic of the book cover fairly easily but finding a copy of it!? What a chore! I’m assuming it’s out of print or something. The library doesn’t even have a copy. It was first published in 1989 after all. It’s likely to have lost some popularity.
Anyway, here it is! Just as I remember it.
