It Finally Happened…

…I almost got hit by a bike. I actually had to put my hand on the front of the bike in order to aid the cyclist in not hitting me. I was walking two dogs, about to lawfully cross the street and a senior citizen on a bike is suddenly right next to me. And all he said was, “Sorry darlin’.” Give me a break. Here are his offenses:

1. Running a red light – It was my light. The crosswalk is supposed to be a safe place for pedestrians to cross the street…without the threat of getting hit by a moving vehicle!

2. Biking in the bus lane – There is an actual lane, painted and marked off, that is solely dedicated to people on bicycles. It’s on the opposite side from the bus lane.

3. Ignoring a very obvious blind spot – I was blocked by a large van. And several other parked vehicles. No x-ray vision? Consider stopping for a looksie.

4. Continuing through the red light! – You almost hit someone! Stop for goodness sake! Pay attention!

Careful sir. You can only get away with these for so long…
